Team roles and permissions

The five roles in plain language, the export grant that travels with an invitation, and who can share reports, manage the team, or touch billing.

Every member of a workspace holds exactly one role, and the role answers one question: what is the most this person can do here? The same table is consulted by the interface, the server, and the database independently — a greyed-out button is not the only thing standing between a viewer and a delete.

  1. Know the five roles

    Owner: full access, including billing, domains, ownership transfer, and deletion — there is exactly one, and billing belongs to them alone. Admin: full operational access and team management, but cannot transfer ownership or delete the workspace. Editor: creates, edits, and publishes links and campaigns; no billing or team administration. Analyst: views analytics and exports according to plan; no content changes. Viewer: read-only access.

    When something is unavailable to you, the control says which role it needs rather than simply vanishing — "this needs Admin" is actionable in a way an absent button is not.

  2. Understand the export grant

    Exporting fan data and analytics is a per-member permission on top of the role, decided by the "Allow exports" choice on the invitation. Owners and admins always have it. Editors receive it when they are invited. Analysts and viewers have it only when the box was checked — so a viewer can be granted export rights without being promoted, and an analyst can be kept to reading the screens without taking files out.

  3. Know who can share and who can bill

    Sharing a read-only report link — and revoking one — needs the Admin role, on an Artist Pro or Label workspace: minting a public URL to the workspace’s numbers is an administrative act, not a read. Billing belongs to the owner alone, and destructive acts — deleting the workspace, transferring ownership, detaching a domain — additionally require a recent password confirmation, whatever the role.

  4. Count your seats

    Seats are a plan limit: Free and Artist are single-seat, Artist Pro carries three, and Label carries ten across its five workspaces. Inviting past the limit asks you to free a seat or upgrade — it never silently removes anyone.
