Legal

Acceptable use

A redirect service is attractive to people who want to send someone somewhere they would not have gone knowingly. This page is about them, not about you.

Effective date: to be set at general availability · Version 0.9 (draft)

This document is a working draft

Not yet reviewed by a lawyer. The rules below are enforced by the product and by human review; the escalation and appeal process will be formalised before general availability.

Not allowed

Deception

Pages that impersonate a person, band, label, or company; that imitate a login screen or payment page; or that misrepresent what a visitor will get by clicking.

Malware and hostile downloads

Linking to anything designed to compromise a visitor’s device, or to a download that is not what the page says it is.

Phishing and credential harvesting

Collecting passwords, card details, or identity documents through a DropRoute page. There is no legitimate version of this on a link page.

Unsolicited mail

Uploading or importing addresses that did not opt in, ignoring an unsubscribe, or rebuilding a list from one that asked to be removed.

Illegal content

Anything unlawful where you are or where your audience is, including material that sexualises minors, incites violence, or infringes copyright you do not hold.

Circumventing measurement or limits

Manufacturing clicks, faking traffic, evading rate limits, or scripting signups. Beyond being against these rules, it corrupts the only numbers you have.

Reselling the raw service

Wrapping DropRoute as an unbranded link generator for third parties. Managing clients’ workspaces is expected and fine; reselling the redirect layer is not.

What happens when a page crosses the line

Reports go to support@droproute.app (opens in a new tab) and to an internal queue. A page that is actively harming people — phishing, malware — is suspended first and discussed afterwards. Everything else gets a message describing the problem and a chance to fix it before anything is taken down.

Suspension affects the specific page where possible rather than the whole workspace. Every action is recorded in the audit trail with a reason, and you can ask for that reason.

Appealing

Reply to the notice. A second person looks at it. If the decision was wrong it is reversed, and if it was right you get an explanation rather than a form letter.

Reporting something

Send the address of the page and what is wrong with it to support@droproute.app (opens in a new tab). You do not need an account to report a page.
